I was a 10-lecture optional course and I ran it for many years before my retirement in 2000. This book presents the content of that course for anyone who wishes to study it.

In 1973, I organised the first annual conference on COMPUTER APPLICATIONS IN ARCHAEOLOGY at the University of Birmingham. It started in a small way and has continued to grow and prosper and is now an international conference with many hundreds of participants. This book contains a selection of my papers at that conference over the years as well as other papers and comments relevant to this work.

In the summer of 2000, as part of an MA in Local History undertaken at the University of Birmingham, I carried out a study of Shropshire Place-Names ending in "-ford". This book is an enlarged copy of that study.

ISBN 978-1-326-19513-7 Click here to order a copy . The Ordericus Vitalis Group was founded and led by Dr Sylvia Watts until her death. It used to meet in Shrewsbury to study medieval Latin documents relating to Shropshire. Among these were a collection of documente relating to Madeley (now part of Telford). This book contains transcripts of the original Latin and their translations.

The LAFLIN family have been found in Suffolk since the mid sixteenth century until the present day. This book represents the current state of my research into their history and takes it from around 1500 (the earliest reference yet found is 1524) to the 1901 census. Throughout the discussion, I have tried to indicate my sources so that readers may check the information and form their own opinions.This book was first printed in 2007 and has been made available until I have time to produce an updated version.
	The PREEN FAMILY HISTORY STUDY GROUP exists to research the family. It organises an Annual Reunion and is preparing a History of the Preen Family in four volumes. DNA analysis has shown that the Preen Family is divided into three groups, each with a common ancestor in the seventeenth century. Volume One, to be published this summer, will discuss the early history of the family and then Volumes Two to Four, now published, each cover one of the three groups.
